Few fish have as much personality as puffers and boxfish — they recognise their keepers and quickly become tank favourites. They are robust once established and thrive on a varied meaty diet of crustaceans and shellfish.
Compatibility & reef behaviour
Plan tankmates with care. Puffers can sample corals and inverts, and stressed boxfish may release toxins, so a fish-only or species-appropriate system suits them best. They are otherwise peaceable with similarly sized fish.
