Eels and the small sharks and rays in this group are impressive specimen animals for large fish-only systems and public aquariums. Moray eels in particular are hardy and long-lived, feeding on meaty foods, while the elegant Blue Ribbon Eel is a striking display species for the experienced keeper.
Compatibility & reef behaviour
These are predators that will eat fish and crustaceans small enough to take, so tankmates must be sized accordingly. Eels are escape artists and require a tightly sealed lid; sharks and rays need ample space and pristine water.
