With their sweeping fins and stately movement, lionfish and scorpionfish are unmatched as predatory display fish. They are durable and straightforward once weaned onto meaty foods, and command attention in any system.

Compatibility & reef behaviour

Coral-safe but firmly predatory, lionfish swallow any fish or shrimp that fits their mouth, so companions must be sized accordingly. The venomous spines require careful handling and protective packing.

Export packaging & shipping

This species carries spines or a sharp caudal scalpel, so it is double or triple bagged to prevent it from puncturing the bag in transit — a key part of how we protect both the fish and its bagmates. Like all our stock it is purged, bagged in pure oxygen and insulated for the shortest reliable route.
